Assist America, a provider of emergency services through employee benefit plans, has launched Assist America Mobile, an optimization of the company's website for users of the BlackBerry.

Members of Assist America who have a BlackBerry can now view and navigate the Assist America website on their mobile devices, without need for resizing or extensive scrolling. The site is fully functional on all modern BlackBerry models that are running a minimum of BlackBerry OS 4.6 or higher including the Tour, Bold, Bold 2, Curve 8900, Curve 8500, Storm, Storm 2 and all future units. Members can view service descriptions and extensive on-the-go travel information such as visa and inoculation requirements, cultural tips and recent media stories for any of the 194 sovereign nations recognized by the U.S. State Department, from anywhere in the world. The Assist America Mobile application does not require a program download - it will detect if a visitor to the Assist America website is using a BlackBerry and automatically display the optimized version.

"Our members are always on the move, and their phones are what keep them connected," said George Howard, President of Assist America. "We developed Assist America Mobile with their needs in mind - providing a rapid way to activate our services, and practical, relevant information for their travels presented in an easy-to-navigate format.

"Our company is a pioneer in the assistance industry, not only with our services, but with the mobile optimizations for iPhone and now, BlackBerry. We hope our members and insurance company partners take full advantage of these technological enhancements."
