3M, Skinit Team For PC, Portable Accessories Line

SAN DIEGO - 3M's Optical Systems division and Skinit have teamed for a line of 3M-branded privacy, protection and personalization products for notebooks, phones and portable devices.
A joint Web site, www.3Mskins.com , launched launched April 1, offers five sizes of 3M widescreen notebook privacy filters ranging from 12.1 inches to 17 inches. Each purchase includes a free Skinit notebook personalization skin. Products for mobile phones and other handheld devices, including privacy, protection and personalization films, will join the notebook-filter line later this year, 3M said.
The 3M privacy filters darken laptop screens when viewed from the side while the user clearly sees what's on the screen.
